Physical therapy in a patient with post-encephalitis tetra-paresis: a case report

چکیده

The purpose of the rehabilitation program is to improve motor skills, coordination, mobilization and other existing disorders achieve independence in daily living (ADL). Physical therapy as part can provide core stability exercises, facilitation stimulation motion upper lower extremities, balance exercises well strengthening with active techniques using patient's body weight a training burden. Strengthening exercise reduce spasticity by antagonist muscles. After six months program, manual muscle testing (MMT) was evaluated for right extremity 3/5, left 5/5, 1/5, 2/5. Ashworth scale 1/4, 2/4, 1/4. Clonus reduced, patient stand maximum support without clonus 10 minutes. Trunk impairment 12/23 Barthel index 65/100. Mobilization being able sit minimal assistance, namely stabilization pelvis, sitting standing moderate support, which supported at knee bilaterally, pelvic This case report concludes that although physiotherapy done late techniques, it turn will increase carrying out functional activities ADLs.
